Hello folks! As you may have seen that all of my posts were all about how I was making my documentary, what was it about, how do I plan it etc. Its Finally Here! It took me about 3-4 weeks of editing, fixing mistakes and making it as neatly as it could get. Creativity sure does take some time! Got some spare time to decide my documentary's title. I know it's not a good idea to decide your title long before your film is made but If I feel like, I may change it in the future. For now, Imkaan: "Ambition to Success" sounds lovely. You may ask why I chose this title, my answer is very simple. I came up with this title because in my eyes, I feel like Imkaan seems to be an ambition; an ambition to help people to get somewhere, a place in their life a bit more comfortable then they are now. Whereas success is what they aim to acheive. Thier success lies in the happy faces that they get to see when the people smile, or when a child is able to go to school, and have a better chance at life. So, this journey of Imkaan's NGO starts from a small ambition to fulfill its duty and deliver to these people, and truly that is their aim and success at the end of the day.
When did documentaries begin? Documentaries have been around since the day break of film, more than a120 years ago. Earlier to 1900, documentaries were basically a way of capturing a minute on film, basic things like a vessel docking or a train pulling into a station. Two French brothers Auguste and Louis Lumiere shot numerous of these brief films , most enduring less than a minute since that was all that film making was able of at the time. BolesÅ‚aw Matuszewski, a clean author and filmmaker was among the primary to recognize and compose approximately the class back in 1898, but myth has it that John Grierson was the one who coined the term narrative in 1926. In the early portion of the 20th century travelog movies , alluded to as ‘scenics’ overwhelmed the narrative landscape.
