When did documentaries begin? Documentaries have been around since the day break of film, more than a120 years ago. Earlier to 1900, documentaries were basically a way of capturing a minute on film, basic things like a vessel docking or a train pulling into a station. Two French brothers Auguste and Louis Lumiere shot numerous of these brief films , most enduring less than a minute since that was all that film making was able of at the time. Bolesław Matuszewski, a clean author and filmmaker was among the primary to recognize and compose approximately the class back in 1898, but myth has it that John Grierson was the one who coined the term narrative in 1926. In the early portion of the 20th century travelog movies , alluded to as ‘scenics’ overwhelmed the narrative landscape.
